ADVERTISING & SPONSORSHIP POLICY
How we keep editorial and commercial separate
The people who write our articles, build the Transparency Index and analyse the Results Observatory play no part in selling advertising, and what they publish does not depend on who pays. A school’s regulatory and factual information is the same whatever it pays — including when it pays nothing.
PRINCIPLES WE STAND BY
Our commitments
OPEN TO EVERY SCHOOL
Free directory listings
Every school appears in the directory with a complete listing, whether it pays for premium features or not. Inclusion is never dependent on a commercial agreement.
NO PAID ADVANTAGE
Editorial completeness
Not paying will never make a school look worse. The completeness of every listing is an editorial decision based on our own criteria, never a commercial one.
ALWAYS TRANSPARENT
Clear sponsorship labels
All paid placements and sponsored content are clearly labelled, both where they appear and within the content itself.
STANDARDS FIRST
Responsible partnerships
We automatically suspend any sponsorship if a school enters insolvency proceedings or loses its regulatory approval.
OUR OWN STANDARD
A simple principle we follow
We don’t take money from a school we wouldn’t send our own child to. Trust always comes before commercial opportunity.
PREMIUM FEATURES FOR GREATER VISIBILITY
What a school CAN pay for
STAND OUT
✅ Sponsored visibility placements
Visibility placements that help schools appear more prominently across the platform, always clearly labelled as “Sponsored” so users can easily distinguish promoted content from organic results.
SHOW YOUR SCHOOL
✅ Enhanced school listing content
Expanded content within the school listing, including additional photos, videos and a virtual tour of the facilities, helping families gain a deeper understanding of the school before making contact.
PROMOTE YOUR EVENTS
✅ Featured placement in the open-day calendar
Featured placement for open days within the platform’s calendar, making school events more visible and helping attract families who are actively planning visits.
QUALIFIED INTEREST
✅ Candidate profile sharing
Receive profiles from candidates who have explicitly chosen to share their details with that specific school, ensuring all contact is based on clear user consent.
PROTECTED BY INDEPENDENCE
What NO school can pay for
EARNED, NOT BOUGHT
❌ Positions in comparisons and rankings
No school can pay to improve its position in comparisons, editorial rankings or any other ordering determined by our independent methodology.
BASED ON EVIDENCE
❌ Ratings and recommendations
Ratings, scores and recommendations are never influenced by commercial agreements and cannot be purchased or modified in exchange for payment.
ALWAYS INDEPENDENT
❌ Changes to the Transparency Index
Schools cannot change, soften or remove their Transparency Index, regardless of whether they advertise or purchase any premium features.
OFFICIAL DATA ONLY
❌ Approved course listings
Schools cannot remove or alter the list of courses they are not approved to teach. This information comes directly from the public register of the national aviation authority—in Spain, AESA—and is neither owned nor controlled by us or the school.
FACTS REMAIN VISIBLE
❌ Results Observatory data
Results Observatory data cannot be hidden, edited or removed, even when the information may be unflattering to a school.
AUTHENTIC OPINIONS
❌ User reviews
Schools cannot edit, remove or suppress user reviews, whether they relate to their own organisation or to a competing school.
NO PRIOR APPROVAL
❌ Editorial independence
No school has the right to review, influence or veto our editorial content before it is published.
EQUAL ACCESS
❌ Directory inclusion
Schools cannot pay to remove competing organisations from the directory or limit their visibility through commercial agreements.
EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
How we cover bad news
Our editorial decisions are never influenced by commercial relationships. When negative news matters to prospective students or the wider community, we report it fairly, verify it carefully and give those involved the opportunity to respond.
- Editorial coverage is published the same way whether a school is a sponsor or not, including bad news about the people who pay us.
- Before publishing anything negative about a school, we give it the chance to respond, and we publish its response alongside the information.
- If a school closes and leaves students affected, we report it, carefully and with sources, whether it pays us or not, and we publish a practical guide for those affected. No commercial arrangement changes this.
